Beautiful Purple Wedding Flowers
77
Purple makes a great choice for wedding flowers, as there are so many
different shades and textures to mix and match. Purple is associated
with royalty, nobility, peace, wealth, and beauty bringing a unique
touch of depth and richness to ones wedding. There is no shortage of
purple wedding flowers available allowing one to select the perfect
flowers for their wedding. Also, this way no one has to settle for
something they dislike.
Each flower brings forth its own special qualities. Some purple flowers,
like tulips, are best suited for table arrangements. Other flowers are
perfectly suited for the role of accent flower. For instance, purple
sweet peas and purple phlox are both smaller flowers that cluster on
long stems. The purple phlox is also a very leafy plant, which is great
for filling out purple wedding bouquets or centerpieces.
While there are ways to tent flowers to a desired color many prefer the
natural look. Luckily purple allows couples a wide variety of naturally
purple flowers to choose from. Lavender, which is a light purple, would
make great bouquets, corsages, or boutonnieres. Orchids can make great
corsages while Lilacs, which wilt quickly if not hydrated, are best for
centerpieces or other decorative arrangements. Tulips, roses, iris’s,
and Calla lilies, and hydrangea are all great for bouquets. For a summer
or autumn wedding the Dahlias is a perfect choice as this is their peak
time. Including purple flowers into your flower girl tiaras is also a lovely option.
Choosing ones color is not then end of picking out the flowers. Couples
will need to decide whether they would like a subtle color scheme or a
more eye-catching theme. Combining different purple flowers with pinks,
whites, or reds will create a look of symmetry. For those who are more
interested in creating a contrasting view should choose yellows or
oranges.
Because there are so many purple wedding flowers to choose from deciding
on which flower becomes a tough decision. There are flowers with mild
fragrances like the Swan River flower and then there are flowers like
the Freesia that can be quiet fragrant. The Lisianthus is a popular
wedding flower that has a bell shape. Other popular purple wedding
flowers include the coneflowers, lilacs, impatiens, verbena, gladioli,
Alyssum, Bachelor Buttons, Crocus, Spider Mum, Hybiscus, Pansy,
snapdragons, Wisteria, Tamarisk, Lupine, and Clematis.
No matter which unique combination of purple wedding flowers the couple
chooses will bring a touch of mystery and spirituality to the couples
wedding day.

Very pretty and useful Hub. I just posted an article on my site about Royalty themed parties-whether it be weddings, birthdays, or just a themed party--and this Hub fits right in with it! Thanks!
Great hub! I love the wedding bouquet!! The contrast of purple against white or cream is beautiful.
