Bridal Headbands and Tiaras
By ericabrooks
Just as many major details there are to consider when planning a
wedding, there are equally as many little details that needs to be
decided upon to create the perfect wedding experience. One of these
“little” things to consider is what type of headpiece the bride will
wear. Some brides opt for a traditional veil, while others are happy
with just a single flower pinned in their hair. Another popular option
for brides is to wear bridal headbands or tiaras. This gives a more
modern look as the brides face is not covered by her veil as she walks
down the aisle. It also can add a little or a lot of glitz to a bride,
depending on her taste, which is perfect for the opulent bride as well
as the more demure one. When considering a bridal headband or tiara, it
is important to choose one that fits within the budget as well as the
style of the wedding dress, as some options may not properly compliment
the entire look.
Wedding headbands vary greatly as there are several different types of headbands to choose from including the tiara, headband, double headband, bun
ring, back piece and comb. You can find crystal bridal headbands, pearl bridal headbands
or some other type of floral appliqué or lace. Some of these styles
compliment certain face shapes better than others. It is important to
choose a piece that draws attention to the face, not away from it. Round
faces should choose a piece that has height to make the face appear
longer. While long faces need pieces with little to no height that
extend from ear to ear. Oval faces look best in pieces that do not have a
peak at the top and full faces should seek the illusion of a longer
face that does have a peak at the top.
The wedding day hairstyle also needs to be considered when tiara
shopping because some hairstyles will not work well, while others will
flow beautifully. Just as some hair colors look better with some styles
than others. Platinum blonde and dark haired brides look best with
white, crystal and silver accents while red heads and light brown brides
look well with ivory pearls and gold-tone accessories.
Although a bridal headband many not be appropriate for all brides, it
is something that should be considered because they can give a bride a
certain pop to complete her wedding look that she may otherwise have
been unable to achieve with other bridal wedding accessories.
